I've done yoga here and there in the past but I am signing up for a weekly class, if it goes well maybe 3 a week.
One of my best friends is dating a yoga teacher, he has dropped all his other workouts and is saying yoga is all he needs.
I am considering it because I have the size, if fact I want to be smaller but stronger. So I am thinking Yoga plus my regular martial arts training will be all I need.
Anyone else here taken this step? Anyone else do practise yoga regularly?

I do yoga once a week, a nice change of pace from your everyday workout.

I took up yoga a little over a year ago. Originally I was looking for something to loosen and strengthen my hip, which I managed to dislocate laying down a bike in a curve and whcih was causing me sufficient pain that I couldn't run any more. I do it every day now ... once I got past the very basic "teach you how to breathe" kind of exercises, which seemeed pointless to me as a longtime t'ai chi practitioner, I was really suprised at how challenging some of the positions were.

I'm on a progressive course in the Iyengar style and it has really made a difference in my strength, balance and overall health -- way more than I thought it would since I figured my foundation in martial arts would obviate much of what yoga had to offer me.

I don't really see what one can get out of it in once a week or three times a week practice, but your own schedule may vary from mine.
